Course Description

The TESOL in YWAM Milano trains people to teach English and gives a professional Certificate of qualification in TESOL to graduates. Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages is a course in which students gain an internationally recognized certification and the practical skills needed to become a language teacher in any country on the mission field and in a professional teaching environment.

We are looking for anyone who feels called to teach English as a ministry to join our community of passionate teachers-in-training at TESOL. Whether or not you have any prior training or experience as a teacher, TESOL is a course that will give you the practical skills needed to become a language teacher in any country.

Lecture Phase

TESOL consists of interactive classes that will teach practical methods of teaching English in many different settings and environments. To equip you to be ready in any situation or for any student. There is no prerequisite or requirement for attending TESOL. You will need to have a fairly good grasp of the English language in order to complete this course and its spoken and written requirements. However, English does not have to be your first language and multilingual students are encouraged to apply to this course! Whether or not you have any prior training or experience as a teacher, TESOL is a course that will give you the practical skills needed to become a language teacher in any country- on the mission field or as a professional English language teacher. It is backed by an internationally recognized certification that can open many doors of opportunity, both in limited-access nations overseas and among the multicultural communities in your nation and city. Whether you’re looking to support yourself with a paid job overseas, you want to gain practical skills missions, or if you desire to start an English ministry—TESOL will be an unforgettable learning experience, and all of this in a few short months.

Optional Practicum/ Field Internship

After lecture phase there is an optional internship. There is an optional internship where you will have the opportunity to put into practice the things you learned during lecture phase. You will have the opportunity to teach in all types of classrooms both internationally and locally — ESL, EFL, Online, Young Learners, Adults, Business English, Pre-Literate, Refugees, and more

UofN Certificate

*TESOL Certificate of Completion from YWAM’s University of the Nations (UofN) is given upon successful completion of the entire course.

**Graduates can also apply for an internationally recognized Cert IV in TESOL for an additional fee. Contact your course instructor/ leader.

RPL “In addition to our TESOL certificate for successful completion of the seminar it is possible to obtain an Australian accredited certificate through an Australian Registered Training Organisation (RTO) by a process called Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Recognition of Current Competence (RCC).
